Yesterday's shocking news, Raf Simons is leaving Dior after 3 years at the house. We just saw the documentary Dior and I, which made us even cry in the end, You have to watch it. Raf Simons is such a passionate and humble designer. The news are indeed shocking. However, it leaves us with two big questions. Where's Raf Simons going? And who is taking over? Raf probably has a non-compete agreement, so he can't go to another house for at least a year, and in a statement he did say that he wants to focus on his on brand and interests outside of work. Who will take over? Our guess is Phoebe Philo. She has been at Céline for some time now and perhaps she is ready for the next step in her career, as well as the challenge of working with couture. Oh well, we will just wait and see..
"It is after careful and long consideration that I have decided to leave my position as Creative Director of Christian Dior Couture Women’s collection. It is a decision, based entirely and equally on my desire to focus on other interests in my life, including my own brand, and the passions that drive me outside of my work."
