There's nothing like fashion meeting art. Marina Abramovic has been one of my favorite artists for a long time now. When I saw her retrospective at MOMA a couple of years a go, I almost started crying. Givenchy is not one of my favorite brands. However, Riccardo Tisci is a very talented designer and his relationship with Marina is just beautiful. On september 11, he choose to present his spring 2016 collection in New York, on the 14th anniversary of 9/11. A day he described should be about love, and that's why everyone was invited. Every model, celebrity and designer in the fashion world was there. Love is for everybody, Marina said and art is about freedom to express ourselves. He teamed up with Marina to create the setting for the show, but also to remember how lucky we are to be alive and seeing the beautiful sunset over the hudson. To stop a second. "Slow down and feel something!" Marina said as one of her performances, while people just kept on instagramming. That was the setting, performances created by Marina, while the catwalk took place. One with a ladder, another with a tree, a third with a faucet gushing water. A truly magical fashion moment. What about the collection then? It is beautiful, of course. The couture laces dresses with the feathers are just like a dream and all those black suits and trousers are perfection. It's very Givenchy to me, not to much, still unique and interesting. A more refine and classy Givenchy woman, with a beautiful face mask. We will never forget september 11, although Riccardo Tisci and Marina Abramovic made that day, a bit more beautiful.
